August 3, 2015 program - Ft. Tombecbe

Our August speaker will be Archaeologist Dr. Ashley Dumas, who will be talking about her research at Fort Tombecbe, an early 18th century fort in Sumter Co that was occupied by the French, Spanish, and British before it became part of the US.  Dr. Dumas specializes in the late prehistoric Southeast, European colonization, and salt and civilization.  She is Assistant Director of the Black Belt Museum and teaches all of the Anthropology courses at the University of West Alabama.

The BPS business meeting starts at 7:00, and the program is from 7:30pm - 8:30pm.
